"I Guess He’d Rather Be In Colorado"; John Denver; Poems, Prayers & Promises; 1971
"Once again I hear him talking to the stars he makes…"
"Yellow Cat", John Denver, Rhymes & Reasons, 1969
"I didn’t think they’d die so soon, but there all withered now. Seems like everything I touch turns out that way…"
Not a song, but the last track to John Denver’s fourth album; Poems, Prayers, and Promises. It’s one of my favorite poems and has meaning even today, it was written by Kendrew Lascelles in 1971. Rest in peace, John.
